Next Fellowship Intake

October to December 2010

The Seacem Fellowship Program is now open to outstanding and distinctive employee of independent media organizations in Southeast Asia. The selected candidate will be given a monthly stipend of RM1500 and accommodation for up to 3 months in Malaysiakini whereby the Fellow will undertake a project which will enhance his or her knowledge in online news portal.

The proposed project should address the capability development of the Fellow in any of the following focus areas:

• Fieldwork in Journalism

• Editorial Policy

• Website Development

• e-Marketing for Media Organization

• e-Media Grant Application

• Video Journalism

Eligibility

It is expected that upon the completion of the 3 months fellowship, the respective candidate will transmit

the lessons learnt, or pilot new ideas in their organization for maximum impact. As such the ideal

candidate should have the following requirements:

• Proficiently in English both written and oral

• Committed to delivering measurable project outcomes

• Committed to create change in their country. Priority will be given to countries with low level of development or freedom of expression.

The deadline for the application is 1 month before the commencement of the fellowship.

Fellowship Intake Period

• Intake 1: January to March, 2010

• Intake 2: April to June, 2010

• Intake 3: July to September, 2010

• Intake 4: October to December, 2010.
